Spanish Classes

¡Hola, amigos! Conversational Spanish classes have resumed. Intermediate classes are every Friday from 9:30 a.m.–11:15 a.m. Beginners’ classes are every Friday from 11:30 a.m.–1:15 p.m., and we need some new people in this class. We hope to see you there! Call Beatriz at 298-7779 with your questions, or just show up for the class.

Lighthouse Catholic Media Kiosk

Have you noticed the books and CDs at the stand in the back of the church? If you’ve been looking for a great way to learn more about your Catholic Faith on your own time, check out some of the talks and books by some of today’s top Catholic theologians and speakers.

Watch for new CDs and books to help you prepare for Easter.

If one of the titles interests you, please take it and place a donation in the slot on the kiosk near the bottom. To ensure the continuation of this Parishioner-run ministry, please give $3.00 per CD, $2.00 per booklet (center row), or $4.00 per book (bottom row). Cash or checks are welcome (with checks made payable to St. Francis de Sales Parish with “Lighthouse kiosk” in the memo line).

Ignorance of Scripture Is Ignorance of Christ

Join Deacon Frank Collura for a class on the New Testament every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Parish Center. All are welcome.

Tuesday Morning Scripture Study

Join Matthew Marchesseault, a recent graduate of Holy Apostles College, as he leads fellow Parishioners in an open-forum Scripture discussion based on the Sunday readings.  The readings will be the focal point, but the discussion will lead wherever the participants desire.  Meetings are on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Parish Center.  All are welcome. NO CLASS DURING HOLY WEEK AND DURING THE SUMMER!

Becoming A Catholic...The OCIA Program

The OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is designed for adults who are not baptized or have been baptized in another denomination and who wish to become Catholics.  The formal process begins each year in September and culminates in the Solemn Liturgy of the Lord’s Resurrection on Holy Saturday and includes weekly meetings, study, discussion and developing an understanding the Roman Catholic Faith.

If you know of someone who would be interested in becoming Catholic or someone who is a baptized Catholic but has not received the sacraments of Penance or Eucharist or Confirmation, please call the Parish Office at 885-5908 for more information.
